Exhibition Design at the Royal Academy

November 2009

Sir Nicholas Grimshaw’s sketchbooks are on display at The Royal Academy in London until 31 January 2010. The exhibition then moves to Edinburgh College of Art until March with other venues to be confirmed.

Shown as a collection for the first time, the books are held in display cases designed by Billings Jackson. The timber cases are untreated to appear as raw as the sketches, echoing the exhibition theme of ‘Capturing the Concept’. Integrated LED lighting and adjustable back panels ensure that these traveling exhibition cases will have a life beyond the run of this show.
