Moscow Bikeshare

Billings Jackson and City ID were commissioned to work with Smoove Transit, a leading proponent of bike share schemes operating in 16 cities globally, to develop Moscow’s VeloBike programme.

A total of 2,500 bikes divided between 150 docking stations located across central, south and southwest Moscow were available to rent from 2014. The rental points are 300-500 metres apart and are easily accessible from metro stations and bus stops to ensure that the bicycles are useful to Muscovites and visitors alike.

The bicycle is a Decathlon B-Twin, customized by Billings Jackson with a bespoke basket and branded with sponsor details. The bike hire totem carries a heads-up map developed by City ID as part of a wider suite of wayfinding amenities in Moscow.
