Cuvia Launch

Cuvia launched at Light + Building Frankfurt, in 2014.

Designed by Billings Jackson for Trilux, the brief called for an outdoor luminaire with broad scalability at a highly economic price point. The elegance of the solution suggests a far more expensive product.

The evolution of LED technology is continuous and fast-paced. Cuvia is future-proofed to respond to this by employing the most economic light package by today’s standards in a housing designed to accommodate change should other systems come to the fore. The LEDs screw directly into the diecast aluminium shell, providing an effective heat sink without the need for additional cooling material.

In anticipation of its use as a replacement luminaire, Cuvia is designed for ease of install. It can be top or side mounted depending on whether the pole is angled and has flexible fixings to enable on-site adjustments to light direction. The LED is accessed from above only, meeting the most stringent European safety standards.

Cuvia is a deceptively simple product. The design solution has achieved a baseline price point and high performance levels with unprecedented efficiency.
